Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, if she will undertake a review of the (a) selection and (b) security process applied to appoint Lord Mandelson as Ambassador to the US; and if she will make it her policy to publish the findings of that review.

All appointees for Ambassador and High Commissioner roles are subject to pre-posting processes, including security vetting. We do not comment on the details of individual clearances or national security as a matter of course.
