We remain committed to implementing Extended Producer Responsibility for packaging (pEPR) in a phased manner from 2024. As set out in the pEPR Government response, the Scheme Administrator will be hosted in the public sector and will be appointed in 2023. The design and set-up of the Scheme Administrator are currently being developed in close collaboration with packaging producers. HM Government is working closely with the Devolved Administrations to deliver pEPR across the UK.
