We have not recently received any requests from officials in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq for discussions on the establishment of an independent Kurdish state. The UK is committed to a stable, secure, prosperous and unified Iraq. We believe that the Kurds have an important role to play in building that future and confronting the threat ISIL poses to all of Iraq’s communities.
