Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, whether school nurses will have a role in the National Diabetes Prevention Programme.

School nurses have a role in the primary prevention of obesity in children and young people. The National Diabetes Prevention Programme is aimed at individuals at high risk of developing type 2 diabetes aged over 18, and as such school nurses will not have a role in this programme.
