Question to the Department for Education:

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, if she will allocate £2.6 billion to the reform of the children's social care system as recommended by the Independent Review for Children's Social Care.

The department is devising an implementation strategy in response to the Independent Review for Children's Social Care. We are determined to respond to the challenges set by the review, and the issues must be considered carefully.

The department is currently assessing the Review’s recommendations and cost implications with relevant government departments, including HM Treasury, who bear responsibility for funding.
