Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what the cost was of the administration of clinical correspondence backlog at NHS Shared Business Services; and how the costs will be met in each of the next five years.
As set out in the National Audit Office investigation of clinical correspondence handling at NHS Shared Business Services, the administration costs of the incident to the end of financial year 2016/17 was £6.6 million. £2.26 million of these costs have already been met by NHS Shared Business Services directly.
