Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, how much the operation of the Manston immigration facility has cost the Government each month in 2022.

This information could only be obtained at disproportionate cost. The costs of running Manston immigration facility sit across multiple different DG-led commands within the Home Office and are attributed to a number of different budgets and funding streams. The work to reconcile these figures is complex and requires careful separation from other BAU costs which are already borne by the Department. Additionally, and in keeping with normal commercial practices, some contracted activity for recent months has not yet been billed by the suppliers in question. However, we are working at pace to be able to provide this information at the upcoming Home Secretary’s’ Home Affairs Select Committee attendance.
