Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what estimate he has made of trends in the level of employment in (a) Cambridge and (b) the rest of the UK as a result of the decision to centralise genome testing in Cambridge.

NHS England has no knowledge of the decision to centralise all National Health Service genomic testing in Cambridge that is being referred to and therefore no assessment has been made. Whole genome sequencing is being carried out in Cambridge by Illumina for the 100,000 Genomes Project.
