Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what data his Department holds on the number of deaths related to complications from pelvic mesh implants; and what steps he is taking to help ensure that data on instances of mesh related deaths is (a) recorded and (b) made available.

The information requested is not held centrally. NHS Digital is producing a report related to the incidence of re-operations and mortality following pelvic floor procedures and aims to release the results by spring 2023, following consultation with clinicians.
