Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what the projected cost was of the cancelled electrification on the (a) Great Western Mainline, (b) Midland Mainline and (c) the line between Windermere and Oxenholme.

The forecast costs of delivering the cancelled electrification on (a) was around £0.5bn, (b) around £1.2bn and (c) around £40m (all in cash prices).
