Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, how many workless households there were in (a) 2010 and (b) the most recent period for which figures are available.

HM Government has made significant progress on reducing the number of workless households. In April-June 2010 there were 3.95 million workless households. In April-June 2017 there were 3.0 million workless households, which is the lowest on record.
