The Government is committed to the removal of reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC) from the National Health Service estate by 2035 and protecting patient and staff safety in the interim period. We have allocated £685 million to mitigate the risks posed by this material. We are working with the worst affected trusts to determine the best approach to eradicating RAAC, including replacing two hospitals in the New Hospital Programme.
