Question to the Department for Education:
To ask the Secretary of State for Education, with reference to the answer of 10 April 2026 to Question 120329 on Opportunity Mission Board, how the Board has been reformed.
The Opportunity Mission is now led through delivery-focused forum benefiting from external and sector expertise. The Board ceased to be a Cabinet Committee in November 2025.
Delivery is now managed through a range of ministerial, official and departmental governance arrangements, rather than through a dedicated Mission Board. These include the Departmental Board, chaired by my right hon. Friend, the Secretary of State for Education. Ministers also work across government through ministerial forums, including the Keeping Children Safe Ministerial Board.
Since the Opportunity Mission Board last met, the department has published a number of major strategies, including the Giving Every Child the Best Start in Life and the Every Child Achieving and Thriving White Paper which set out the government's approach to delivering these priorities.
