To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland, what assessment he has made of the effect on postal services in Scotland of competition between providers.

Ofcom, as the UK's independent regulator for postal services, has a duty to monitor any impacts of market competition on the provision of the universal service in Scotland. Ofcom has the power to intervene if the service is deemed to be at risk.
