The Government is committed to building 40 new hospitals. Two of the hospitals are open to patients and five are in construction.

We have confirmed an initial £3.7 billion for the first four years of the New Hospital Programme. Further funding for the programme will be set out at future Spending Reviews.

The Programme’s approach to standardising construction will drive efficiencies ensuring value for money and cutting-edge facilities for staff and patients.
