Question to the Department for International Development:

To ask the Secretary of State for International Development, for what reasons she decided to end her Department's role in the Bost Agricultural Business Park project in Afghanistan in 2012.

The Bost Agricultural Business Park was approved in 2009 at a time when Ministers did not approve spend under £40 million. In 2012 it became clear that the project would not be completed within the original timeframe and in good order. To avoid wasting taxpayers' money I decided that further UK funding should be cancelled.
