The Scotland Act 2012 gave tax raising powers to the Scottish Parliament, including full devolution of stamp duty land tax and landfill tax, starting from April 2015. The Scottish Government has taken forward legislation to replace these taxes in Scotland.

Lord Smith’s Commission will consider proposals to devolve further tax raising powers.
