HMPO experienced higher than expected demand for passports this year. The contingency measures announced by my Rt. hon. Friend, the Home Secretary in June have directly benefited over 30,000 applicants and enabled people to get their passports on time. Full details of overtime and customer compensation payments will be published in HMPO’s next Report and Accounts.
