Question to the HM Treasury:

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, what assessment he has made of the effect of the tax classification of mead as made-wine on makers of alcoholic drinks from fermented honey.

The Government is committed to review our alcohol duty structures. Further announcements about the review will be made in due course. Any changes will be considered by the Chancellor and announced at fiscal events.
