Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what new treatment and recovery funding streams he plans to make available to support people affected by alcohol misuse.
The commissioning and delivery of drug and alcohol treatment services is now almost entirely integrated in England. Through the Government’s 10-year drug strategy, published on 6 December 2021, £533 million has been allocated to the drug and alcohol treatment system over three years and we will provide further investment for medical managed inpatient detoxification units.
This funding is in addition to £9.8 million made available in 2021/22 for medically managed inpatient detoxification units and funding for local authorities from the Public Health Grant.
