Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health, if he will make available on the NHS lenosterol for the treatment of eye cataracts.
This question was answered on 15th September 2015
Lanosterol is still in development and has not yet been trialled on humans.
The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence is currently developing a clinical guideline on the management of cataracts in adults which is currently expected to be published in June 2017.
