Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what steps his Department is taking to help ensure that patients do not have to travel excessive distances to access innovative cancer treatments.
NHS England plans specialised services nationally and regionally and aims to ensure equity of access, such as for some innovative cancer treatments. Cancer Alliances consist of clinical and managerial leaders from different hospital trusts and other health and social care organisations to enable care to be more effectively planned across local cancer pathways.
