Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what (a) criteria and (b) process his Department plans to use to determine which local authorities are successful in receiving the bus service improvement plan funding.

The National Bus Strategy and subsequent guidance set out clear expectations on what Bus Service Improvement Plans should include. At the Budget we announced £1.2 billion of new dedicated funding for bus transformation deals. We will announce details of how that funding will be allocated in due course.
