This Government is committed to meeting the country’s housing need. We delivered over 1.5 million new homes between 2010 and 2019, including over 450,000 affordable homes, and we delivered over 241,000 additional homes in the last year – the highest level in over 30 years.

We’re supporting the building of homes by committing at least £44 billion of funding since 2018, lifting the borrowing cap for councils and making more land available for housing.

This summer the Prime Minister announced that the West Midlands Combined Authority is receiving £84 million from the Brownfield Fund to unlock up to 7,500 new homes, building on the £350m housing package the Government agreed with West Midlands Combined Authority in 2018 intended to deliver 215,000 new homes by 2031.

We will also continue to provide support across the country from the Housing Infrastructure Fund, with £60 million of infrastructure across the West Midlands to unlock up to 6,400 homes, including £15.6 million to unlock 3,000 homes at Coventry’s Eastern Green.
