Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what plans he has in place to enable people to identify quickly the steps that they need to take to (a) protect themselves and (b) follow the law on covid-19 in their locality; and if he will make an assessment of the merits of adopting the local lockdown look up tool developed by Matthew Somerville.

We are delivering a tailored campaign approach to local areas on the ‘watchlist’. Activities include messaging on key protective behaviours – social distancing, hand washing, and use of face coverings, as well as testing and isolation for those who have symptoms. This will allow people to protect themselves and follow the law.

We are always looking at ways of making information easily accessible to individuals, including publishing information on local restrictions on GOV.UK.
