The Government set up the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse in March 2015 to look at the extent to which institutions in England and Wales have discharged their duty to protect children from sexual abuse. The terms of reference do not specify an end date, although the Inquiry Chair has said that she is determined that the Inquiry makes substantial progress by 2020.
