Question to the HM Treasury:
To ask Her Majesty's Government what assessment they made of the efficiency of the probate processing by HMRC.
This question was answered on 16th October 2018
HMRC is responsible for processing Inheritance Tax accounts, required before probate can be applied for. The Chancellor of the Exchequer has recently commissioned the Office of Tax Simplification to look at ways in which the overall process can be simplified.
