Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask Her Majesty’s Government what plans they have to increase the safety of civilians in Gaza, in the light of the possibility of ground troops being deployed there.

We are deeply concerned by the continued violence in Gaza and Israel and call on all sides to de-escalate to avoid further civilian casualties. We have stressed to Israel counterparts our concern that a ground invasion of Gaza would increase the risk of civilian casualties, and that a large ground operation risks prolonging the conflict.
