Question to the Home Office:
To ask Her Majesty's Government whether section 29J of the Public Order Act 1986 remains in force; and what assessment they have made of the extent to which interpretations by the police and Crown Prosecution Service of what constitutes hate crime has altered the application of that provision.

Section 29J of the Public Order Act 1986 remains in force. The police and Crown Prosecution Service definition of a hate crime does not change the application of Section 29J.
