Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask Her Majesty’s Government whether representations have been made to the government of Afghanistan on the inclusion of women in the official Afghan delegation to the Afghanistan Development Conference to be co-hosted by the United Kingdom in November.

The composition of the official Afghan delegation will be up to the new Afghan Government to decide, once the election process has been concluded and it is in place. However, as a co-host the UK will strongly encourage the new Afghan Government to ensure that its delegation includes women as well as men.
