Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask His Majesty's Government, further to the Written Answer by Lord Hendy of Richmond Hill on 17 June (HL476), whether they have made progress on the strengthening of Hammersmith Bridge; and when they expect Hammersmith Bridge to reopen for traffic.

As the asset owner, the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham may choose to apply for further project funding for the next stage of ‘Strengthening’ works on Hammersmith Bridge through the new Structures Fund, which launched on 15 April 2026. Any application will be assessed alongside other applications to the fund, and further project updates will be made available in due course.
