Question to the Home Office:
To ask Her Majesty’s Government what assessment they have made of whether immigration detention is an area where they could make savings.

Home Office expenditure is kept under constant review. Savings are already being made from the detention estate, by using competition to achieve best value for money and quality of custodial services.
