The Government is committed to improving the transparency of the Prevent programme which safeguards and supports vulnerable individuals to stop them becoming terrorists or supporting terrorism.

To this end, the Government has accepted Lords amendment 13 to the Counter-Terrorism and Border Security Bill to establish an independent review “on the Government strategy for supporting people vulnerable to being drawn into terrorism”. The amendment further requires the Secretary of State to publish the report and any recommendation of the review, together with the Government response, within 18 months of Royal Assent.
