Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask Her Majesty’s Government whether the issues of migration and conflict resolution will be on the agenda of the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting in Malta in November.

The agenda for November’s Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) has yet to be announced by the Commonwealth Secretariat and the hosts, the Government of Malta. On 22 July in Valletta, the Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, my right hon. Friend the Member for East Devon (Mr Swire), discussed the agenda for the meeting with the Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister of Malta.

The UK is committed to strengthening the Commonwealth’s focus on promoting democratic values and development. We are engaging with Maltese and other partners to ensure a successful CHOGM produces tangible outcomes that make best use of the Commonwealth’s global networks.
