Question to the Department for International Development:

To ask Her Majesty’s Government what assessment they have made of the current availability of electricity, water, and sewerage to the people of Gaza.

UK aid is saving lives and providing services, but we still need to see a political solution for Gaza that will open up movement and access whilst addressing Israel’s legitimate security concerns. We continue to press Israel to facilitate improvements in water and electricity infrastructure in Gaza. The issue has also been raised in recent visits by the Minister of State for International Development and the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
