Hernias: Surgical Mesh Implants

Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask Her Majesty's Government, further to the Written Answer by Baroness Blackwood of North Oxford on 25 March (HL14388), whether they will ask NHS England to meet Parliamentarians to discuss the case for the publication of guidance by NICE on hernia mesh operations which cover all the types of hernia treated by surgeons.

NHS England has advised that Celia Ingham Clark, NHS England’s Medical Director for Professional Leadership and Clinical Effectiveness, would be willing to meet with Parliamentarians to discuss hernia mesh operations guidance.
