Question to the Northern Ireland Office:
To ask Her Majesty’s Government, further to the Written Answer by Lord Dunlop on 20 July (HL1462) which concerned discussions with the government of the Republic of Ireland instigated under the Belfast Agreement, whether human rights in the United Kingdom and the Republic were part of those discussions, and if so, who took part in those discussions; and what were the outcomes.
As has been explained previously to the Noble Lord, the UK and Irish Governments meet regularly at ministerial and official level to discuss issues of mutual interest and concern. These include matters relating to the implementation of the Belfast Agreement.
