Question to the Home Office:
To ask Her Majesty’s Government on what basis the cost of refugees arriving in the United Kingdom is allocated between the budget of the Home Office and that of the Department for International Development.
The Government does not assign a budget to departments specifically for the cost of refugees arriving in the UK.
The cost of refugees might include asylum support, housing benefit, education, health care, and food and clothing. These costs are spread throughout government and are dealt with by various Government departments.
