We are committed to fulfilling the UK’s international obligations to meet minimum standards for asylum seekers who would otherwise be destitute until their asylum claim has finally been determined. These minimum standards are met through the support provided under section 95 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999, usually in the form of accommodation and a weekly cash allowance of £36.95 to cover essential living needs.
