Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask Her Majesty's Government what plans they have to ensure that British citizens who have fought for ISIL in Syria, and who have surrendered or been captured after the fall of Raqqa, will face justice in Syria and will not be repatriated to the UK.

This question was answered on 1st November 2017

The decision to prosecute individuals overseas should be taken by the relevant competent authorities. The Government has been clear that individuals who have travelled to Syria both be prepared to be subject to justice abroad and should expect to be investigated, if they return to the UK.
