Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask Her Majesty's Government what assessment they have made of whether shaking hands could contribute to the spread of COVID-19.
This question was answered on 18th March 2020
The most effective way of avoiding spreading the virus is to avoid close contact with infected persons and to practice good hand and respiratory hygiene, by washing hands frequently and using a tissue when coughing or sneezing.
