Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask Her Majesty’s Government how many nurses trained in England were registered for the first time by the Nursing and Midwifery Council in 2014–15.
The information requested about the number of nurses trained in England registered for the first time by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) in 2014-15 is not held centrally.
The NMC is the independent regulator of nurses and midwives in the United Kingdom and is responsible for nurse registration. Statistical information provided by the NMC states that it registered 14,580, nurses who trained in England, for the first time in 2014-15.
