Question to the HM Treasury:

To ask His Majesty's Government, what effect the surplus reported by the Office for National Statistics on 21 February has had on determining the forthcoming Budget statement.

The Chancellor will present the Spring Budget on Wednesday 6 March alongside an updated official forecast from the independent Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR), which will consider wider economic developments and latest government policy.
