Question to the Department for Exiting the European Union :

To ask Her Majesty’s Government whether they have made an assessment since 23 June of the economic impact on the UK of leaving the Customs Union.

As the Prime Minister has made clear, the Government will give Parliament the opportunity to discuss our approach to leaving the EU - but will not show its hand in detail. We are continuing our analysis of over 50 sectors of the UK economy. Ministers are considering the UK's future customs relationship with the EU. In terms of trade we are evaluating a number of options, and we will negotiate the best unique deal for the UK.
