Demonstrations: Hounslow

(asked on 23rd November 2016) - View Source

Question to the Cabinet Office:

To ask Her Majesty’s Government what steps they will take to ensure that the decision of the Crown Prosecution Service not to prosecute in relation to a demonstration outside the home of the Leader of the London Borough of Hounslow does not adversely impact on the willingness of members of the public to stand for elected office, both locally and nationally.

This question was answered on 6th December 2016

No elected representative should have their security threatened. Councillors are volunteers and community champions. It is for political parties to encourage individuals to stand as their candidates for elected office, both locally and nationally.
