Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask Her Majesty's Government what discussions, whether through Commonwealth channels or otherwise, they have had regarding the achievement of humane improvements in the current treatment of refugees and asylum applicants seeking to enter Australia.

Our High Commission to Canberra most recently discussed the issue with the Australian Department for Foreign Affairs and Trade in November 2017. We also raised this at the UN Human Rights Council Universal Periodic Review of Australia in November 2015.​
