There remains an urgent need for negotiations to agree a durable ceasefire agreement, which tackles the underlying problems of the conflict in Gaza. We were disappointed that it was not possible for the Cairo negotiations to resume as planned on 27 October, due to the terrorist attack in the Sinai. We are urging the parties to ensure that these resume quickly.
