Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask Her Majesty’s Government whether they are aware of any current discussions concerning Gaza's gas fields; and what assessment they have made of the ownership of those gas fields.

The gas fields off the coast of Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories continue to be a matter of commercial discussion. We are in regular contact with British Gas, the Palestinian Authority and the Israelis about the exploration of offshore oil and gas.

Ownership of the gas field is based on location within maritime borders.
