To ask His Majesty's Government with which countries that practise capital punishment the UK maintains diplomatic relations.

The UK maintains diplomatic relations with states across the world, including with those that practise capital punishment. It is our experience that engagement helps the UK to have open conversations with countries on a range of issues, including the death penalty. It is a longstanding policy of the UK Government to oppose the death penalty, in all circumstances, as a matter of principle. Through both targeted bilateral interventions and working with multilateral institutions, the UK continues to work to bring an end to the use of the death penalty.
