Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask Her Majesty’s Government whether they are taking steps to facilitate an exchange of prisoners held as a result of fighting in Ukraine, whether through the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe or otherwise; and what assessment they have made of the prospects of achieving that result.

We continue to call on all parties to implement in full the commitments they made under the ceasefire agreement reached in Minsk in September 2014, including the immediate release of all hostages and unlawfully detained persons. We support ongoing negotiations through the Trilateral Contact Group, of which the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) is a member, and through the Normandy Format to find a diplomatic solution to the crisis in eastern Ukraine.
